Our trip to the Tulip Fest at Dows Lake

This is my friend Janey, she is May May's friend too and when she first saw Janey on the canal she almost went crazy. She went into a weird dance and then jumped up and down on Janey and kissed her like there was no tomorrow. Poor Janey kept wiping her face and May May kept kissing. Posted by Picasa
Another tulip bed at Dows Lake. Posted by Picasa
Some of the beautiful tulips at Dows Lake. Everyone was getting their pictures in front of them and couldn't find a spot without getting someone in the photo. Dows Lake is a man made lake that they built when they built the Rideau Canal. Posted by Picasa
What a beautiful tree on the canal. The day we went was quite quiet, it was a week day in the afternoon only a few tourists and somehow quite a few teenagers. Don't think they would skip school to go to the canal but you never know. Posted by Picasa
A grove of lilac trees. What a beautiful smell these have, it is a shame that they don't stay in bloom longer. I remember when I was first married and we moved to a small town the house we rented had a lilac tree right a the front door. I used to pick them and put them in my hair, how innocent you are when you are 21! Posted by Picasa

Our trip to the Tulip Fest

On the way down the Rideau Canal I spotted this duck, I didn't have a chance to take many photos but the few I got were very nice. Posted by Picasa

Tearing down a building

I liked this photo because it shows just how close they build things next to each other. On Bank Steet the workmen are taking down the outside of the demolished building by hand as not to damage the adjoining building. I understandhow they get this close with brick walls where they put them up by hand but how do they get so close when mostly machines put up the building. The downtown area is sure changing rapidly, and for the better I hope. Posted by Picasa

This is Simon

Simon is another lucky Pomeranian who gets a free ride around the city. He sits inside a basket on a bicylce and goes for tours. Posted by Picasa

All daughters read this on mother's day

" Mothers want their daughters to succeed. And they express their opinions - but so many daughters take it as criticism." - Deborah Tannen, author.

If we show interest we are butting into thier lives, if we hold back we don't care. Just can't win it seems.

Yikes my computer is on the blink!

Oh my it is awful to have a computer that isn't working properly, the darn thing needs a very big cleanup done. I can only be using Internet Explorer for a few minutes and it crashes, it even crashes when I try to defrag. The worst thing is it ate a bunch of my photos while attempting to put them in May May's blog. My apologies to those that were keeping an eye open for their picture. Must run and do things so I can go out and take more pictures of our beutiful city.
These girls were shopping in an art store and just had to stop and talk to May May. Wonder what she is saying? May May seems to be totally entralled by whatever it is. Probably a promise of future treats, that will get and keep her attention. Posted by Picasa

Lovely church

I find the architecture on this church very interesting. It is a shame that todays buildings are so boring. Posted by Picasa

Grove of slanted trees

The tree in the forefront has a very definite slant but all the others slant slightlyin the same direction. I wonder what happened? A terrible wind storm? Posted by Picasa

Jo Jo

Hey everyone, this is Jo Jo. What a great name, it has been mine since i was a kid. It was very hard to take a picture of her so she had to be held down. Jo Jo is full of energy! Posted by Picasa
These two young girls were just going home after seeing the dentist, the older girl got the bunny as a reward. I remember when I used to take my girls downtown to see the dentist, it meant a dy off school and work and we always had a fun time. Posted by Picasa

Shoes and Purse On a Hydro Pole

Spotted these shoes and purse nailed to a hydro pole at the corner of Maclaren and Elgin. On the purse it read "High Society What don't you need." Perhaps it is a message that we must stop throwing things into the landfill that still have life left in them. Posted by Picasa

Three girls from North Plantagenet

These girls stopped to pet May May and she was totally looking the other way until she heard the camera start up and then she turned her head and posed for the picture. What a diva! Posted by Picasa

Brother and sister in the park

Took this picture of a brother and sister at Confederation Park, they were just full of energy. I was at the park to get some free books that were being let loose through bookcrossing.com I got two more Mitchener books for my collection. Posted by Picasa

Stella and May May

This cutie was shopping at the bakery store and stopped to talk to May May, she was very shy. Just love her hat!

Sorry I have been so slow posting the last few photos, the computer has been acting up again. Posted by Picasa
